Ok, initial impressions...
Graphics and sound are great. Environment has high detail, monster animations are smooth and look very good.
Puzzles aren't trivial. Early on they're not too hard, but the difficulty ramps up pretty quick.
Magic is kind of annoying. You have to click some combination of runes to cast each spell. Doing this across two characters each fight gets annoying fast. And if you fail to put enough points in a specific school of magic during character creation, your caster(s) are completely useless for the first level since they won't be able to cast spells.
No hotkeys for fighting means there's a lot of frantic clicking across your 4 characters during a fight. Again, it gets annoying.
No healing spells and few potions can make combat a challenge. I'm only level 4 and I've already died several times (hi 4-pack skeletons). This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it means you need to save often. Which brings me to the next point...
No hotkey for saving your game. Again, annoying.
It's not a dungeon crawler like Diablo/Torchlight/Nethack. It's more like Tomb Raider. Very linear, no regenerating dungeons or regenerating mobs. Once you clear a level, it's permanently cleared. You spend at least as much time figuring out puzzles as you do fighting -- maybe more.
Despite the annoyances, it's a fun game so far. I don't think there will be any replay value though. But for $11-12, it's not bad.
I just started level 3. Dunno how many there are. I suspect it'll keep me busy until D3 comes out.
