Wow, that's pretty cool. So much for getting any work done today.
So which platform will be the best for this? PC still? |
PC > * for everything ever, and ever.
|
That was a pretty sweet live stream. Game looks really good.
|
Man I want this game so bad, so broke though.
Trading game for gold! |
I have to say, the prices of games is getting pretty stupid. In the age of digital downloads, the prices should be going way down, not up. And WTF is up with $150 collector's editions?? Who the fuck buys that shit?
|
i spent the 150 on the PC CE. cant wait.
did u see that kick ass dragon statue? that alone is what sold it for me. ) |
I saw their little pvc statue. Charging $70 for it is insane, imo (I'll generously price the dvd + book at $20). But hey, as long as you're happy...
|
Spent a few hours in it today already (loltorrent) and, well, it's Fallout 3, basically.
Just less rads, more swords. |
If anyone has megaupload premium, or just wants it, I have it (6 links).
|
I made a dark elf.

don't have megaupload premium though! |
Anyone else recognize Saul Tigh (from BSG) as the voice of General Tullius in the very beginning of the game? Awesome. =)

so far so good, i love this game, but wtf is with the random ass crashes to desktop. anyone else getting these?

Me neither. Been surprisingly stable for about 7 hours of gameplay.
Good game so far. Trying to play a ranger/assassin is pretty tough though. Maybe it's just me, but sneak is *really* slow to skill up (even with the Thief blessing). I'm level 11 and my sneak is only 26. I kinda wish there was some indication that an npc holds a quest for you. Doesn't have to be as obvious as a bright yellow question mark over their head. But *something*. Talking to everyone gets boring. |

I believe it's outside of the walls of whiterun, a tent/campfire with 3 cat people. |
Aha, I found them. Much better, thanks.
|
And yeah, the playstyle is pretty fun. Most things die to a sneak attack in 1 shot. I have my doubts about its effectiveness killing dragons and other tough mobs though.
|
Yeah I was thinking about some combo for when I needed to tank something.
I'm enjoying shouts, reminds me of raidleading without the stress. I'm shouting at guards and they are getting pissed. |
My game was having random crashes to desktop, now I can't even open the game :(
I got to like level 18 and now I can't play :( |
Ouch. That sucks. I've been getting crashes to desktop lately too, but only once every 4 hours, I'd say.
|
Yeah mine was fine all of Friday, then I started getting random crashes Saturday, like 3-4 total. Then Sunday I would sometimes crash 30 seconds after loading or go on for like half an hour and be fine. The late Sunday when I got home from dinner I couldn't even load the game :(
|
Still don't have crash problems yet, I found a bugged quest it looks like the 2nd in the thief line the dude doesn't go to the ratway bar, think I found a fix if you enter with the ~ button. "setstage Tg0120", haven't tryed yet.
This game owns Modern warfare 3, check this. http://pc.ign.com/articles/121/1212468p1.html Steam http://pcmedia.ign.com/pc/image/arti...1321314969.jpg |
I haven't had any crashing issues, and mine is a cracked copy!
The only real issue I have is equipping spells. For some reason it will not let me change what is equipped to my 'r' (left mouse click) and only my l (right mouse click) unless I equip an actual weapon then de-equip the weapon so that it is empty. No matter what I try I can't change the spell that is attached to my 'r' unless I do that "trick" - which is incredibly annoying mid-fight and makes the favorite list so much less useful, especially when dual-casting spells is pretty potent. I guess I get what I paid for ~ |
is the game any good? I want to check it out, been busy playing demon souls and arkham city.
|
If you like open world RPGs, then yes. It's a combination of the other Elder Scrolls games with strong elements from Fallout 3 and a heavy layer of consolization. I've enjoyed it so far.
|
I'm really enjoying it so far. I never played Fallout 3, but I can say there are definite improvements from Morrowind/Oblivion. The story is so-so, but the world is enormous with tons to do and the skill system makes for a lot of interesting playstyles.
|
See, I loved the Fallout series, but Oblivion didn't really do it for me. But I think i'll still give it a go.
|
Yeah, I hear ya. I wanted to like Morrowind and Oblivion, but they never really clicked with me either. Skyrim has addressed a couple of my bigger criticisms with the previous two.
It keeps the open-world, do-whatever-you-want-whenever-you-want style, but provides better direction for quests and following the main storyline. They also revamped the skill list, and made it a hybrid of talent trees and the classic skills. You still skill up through use, but can then spend points in each skill's tree which provides you with increased skill effects, or brand new abilities. It's a lot more interesting. Finally, I hate the first-person perspective for RPGs, and you could never zoom very far out in Morrowind/Oblivion. Skyrim lets you zoom out a good bit, which makes for a much more enjoyable 3rd person view. |
Skyrim sells 3.4 million in first two days, not counting digital sales, wow.

I'm enjoying it a lot. I think I should of went straight dark brotherhood and just murdered people or tried a vampire so I couldn't come out during the day sorta like Blake's current lifestyle. Options for another run through. I really enjoy that you can make your character based on what playstyle you feel like. Thief/mage, tank/healer etc. I'm enjoying the dragon fights while it will get old after a while i'm really enjoying it. Lots of fun, I recommend to anyone that enjoys these types of games.
Btw they are working on bug fix patch, no eta. http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1212532p1.html |
Yeah, I'm playing through the Thieve's Guild quests now, but sneaking around isn't nearly as fulfilling if I can't assassinate someone at the end. And they seem very much against murder. I'm looking forward to joining the Dark Brotherhood.
|
I went with straight up fire mage with a lot of thief abilities. I can't play RPG's without being able to steal everything that isn't bolted down. My house in Megaton in Fallout 3 had so much shit in it that it'd lag my game out everytime I went in there. My guy is kind of a glass cannon, but I blow shit up good.
